What is a Cuprigan Bit Made Of?

Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron and 1% zinc. Since copper is a soft alloy, it is combined with different metals to give it strength. It gives the mouthpiece on the BR Soft Contact bits a golden tone. When being used regularly, the oxidation process of the cuprigan mouthpiece provides a pleasant smell and taste that appeals to your horse. The unique properties of Cuprigan, encourages the chewing process and saliva production, which allows for a pleasant connection with the sensitive horse’s mouth.
